Iceland has been ranked the number one country to be a woman for five years in a row.
Icelanders read more books (per capita) than any other nation in the world. 1 in 10 Icelanders will publish a book and Iceland was declared a UNESCO City of Literature (one of seven in the world and the first non-English speaking country).
1 in 4 Icelanders have careers in the arts and Icelanders also have very high rates for supporting and participating in cultural events.
Iceland has been named the most peaceful country in the world.
What makes Iceland so unique? I have long been interested in Iceland. It probably started with being into the Sugarcubes when I was 10 years old and led to many trips to the country, studying Icelandic, reading any book or article on Iceland I can find, and eventually conducting interviews with over 100 Icelandic people. I am interested in what makes Iceland unique, what draws people from all over the world to visit, and what makes Icelanders happy. Together with my loving wife and darling son, we are exploring Iceland in order to figure out how Iceland can make you happy.
